From the Headteacher at Ardleigh Green Junior School
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the support you have given myself, the school and one of our students.
This student has struggled with their behavior since they joined us in Year 3 and I know by the Spring term of Year 5, we were completely at a loss with what to do. It was reassuring to know that there is a service that schools can access (although at a cost) and that there is support out there. I was not aware of this service and it was only through contacts in my Trust that I became aware of its existence. Schools are really expected to be so many things to so many people at the moment and knowing that we could reach out was very reassuring. I think sometimes we are just expected to get on with things.
Thank you for the reassurance you were able to bring to myself and the staff supporting our student and thank you for the relationship you built with them. With their developing maturity, it allowed us to really help understand why an alternative placement would be a new start for them.
I really appreciated the advice you were able to give me. I know now that our student is in the right setting, receiving the best support and that they are still on our roll and still a part of our school. We see them weekly and they know we are invested in their education.
Children need a champion – and the work you are doing is providing just that.
